THE MILLSTONE
strategise - question - optimize
The traditional conical millstone rotates on the earth, offering a large grinding surface to maximise to process of extracting a precious good that requires patience to find.
As a strategist, I don't shy away from difficult questions, probing where it hurts to uncover the truth. I shine light on hidden issues, exposing the pivotal pain points that need attention. I will keep grinding until the juice, pulp, or flower rises to the surface, revealing the pressing matters. Only when one is truly honest can one be truly vulnerable.
THE CONSTELLATION
contextualize - value chain - balance
Black dots suspended in time, like snowflakes that slow down the world, surrounded by air. Air, an element where one is able to rise above the personal and see things from a larger perspective. It’s a force of pause. The dot is the starting point from which all things arise, imagine what a constellation of dots can do.
In my practice, I relate to all the players around me from an equal distance, allowing me to contextualise the situation and view the stakeholders as part of a larger whole. One of the most important aspects of sustainable decision-making is understanding the multitude of areas and people that impact your cause, identifying the risks involved, and setting a plan for moving forward.
THE POLISHED SPHERE
collect - curate - celebrate
The sphere, a round solid figure, symbolises the urge to collect, to polish, and to cherish forever—much like a magpie overcrowding its nest with shiny objects. Brown is a highly undervalued colour with great potential, especially when paired with the right friend.
The constant pursuit of new colours fuels both my curiosity and my work as a durability consultant. To me, sustainability is about enhancing the relationship between product and consumer. By expanding my collection of colours, I broaden my understanding and appreciation of color, which in turn shapes my value standards. Since the more colours we see, the better we perceive our environment and the more we will value it. We nourish what we value, and what we value, we nourish.
THE EARSHELL
concentrate - listen - moderate
We hold shells to our ears to hear wavelike sounds. The human ears resemble the shell, gathering vibrations of air, evoking an interior listening. You might have ears, but this doesn’t mean you can listen.
As a moderator, I carefully shape the conversation to illuminate the essence of the debate. I pick up on the subtleties around me, the softly spoken words that are barely noticeable. I close my eyes and listen to what remains unsaid, focusing on the questions that will bring hidden insights to light.
THE STACKED STONE
play - iterate - design
In the mineral world the stone is seen as the lowest form of creation. It takes outside force to move or change a stone. It’s closed world invites our imagination to play. The common stone surrounds us everywhere yet we give it little value.
In my artistic practice, I play, unburdened by any destination. I often invite other creators to join me on this joyful venture, using simple, childlike materials that ease expectations and allow serendipity to run its course.
Reach out to me if you value the exceptional over the mass produced, the colourful over the dull and the considered over the rushed to create exceptional work with a durable strategy.
