A CONVERSATION STARTER
Residency Albert van Abbehuis 2023
During my residency at the Albert van Abbehuis I further developed Colour Chronicles, a material research that is driven by a curiosity for colour. Questions such as “when does orange become red?” keep me busy.
My extensive collection of colours combined with images of the Playdates that I have been organising since March 2021 were displayed throughout the space.

ORANGE IS ALSO RED – JAPAN
Galerie P+EN Nagoya & TMH L’interieur Tokyo
With the exhibition “Orange is also red” I aim to broaden the viewer’s understanding and appreciation of color, which in turn shapes his or her value standards. Since the more colours we see, the better we perceive our environment and the more we will value it.
This exhibition was first shown in 2021 at TAC Eindhoven, and travelled to Nagoya in 2022 and to Tokyo in 2023.

PLAYDATES 2023
Playdates are a 1-day making spree, in which I invite other creatives to let serendipity run its course. By using lucid and childlike materials we soften the expectations and simplify the creative process, a light-weight and fruitful way of collaborating since there is no end-product needed, or even wished for.
In 2023, artists Namiko Kajitani, Team Thursday, Sanne Schuurman and Iwan Pol have joined me on this joyful venture. The Playdates took place at TMH l’Interieur Tokyo, Albert van Abbehuis and Willem de Kooning academie.

WORKSHOPS & LECTURES
DAE / KABK / WDKA / SINT LUCAS / COCONOGACCO TOKYO
Throughout the past decade I have had the chance to get acquainted with inspiring educational institutes. I have been invited to interact with both the students and staff in several different ways, from teaching full semesters to one-off lectures. Colour, material research and durable decision making are the reccuring topics of these encounters.
